Selamat Hari Raya

The morning started with... Selamat Hari Raya... maaf Zahir dan Batin... halalkan makan dan minum... tears, sobs and what not.

Then my favourite part came... the eating part... yehaaaa!

It was beef rendang, chicken curry and ketupat. I had numerous servings... not going to tell you how many. Just think pig and you have an idea of how many I had. I just LOVE beef rendang and it was really good. Chicken curry, so-so...

Then I went visiting. At the next place it was makan again. Beef rendang again but this time Rendang Tok. I tad dry and slightly hard on certain pieces due to the dryness but good nevertheless. Then the host invited me to have lemang with kaya... yes, kaya. Of course she thought I would have found it strange as I am Chinese but to her amusement it was the Malays who found it strange. They had never heard of such a combination. Hey, I am a foodie... and my foodie days started when I was in primary school thanks to my mom. It was good... haven't had it like this for umpteen years.

Dinner was rendang again with nasi himpit. Wow! This is why I love Hari Raya... rendang, rendang, rendang and more rendang. Yummy...
