Firmware Update

Today I updated my phone's firmware again. This is the 3rd update since I bought this phone. Each update has brought improvements to the phone and now it is zippier than ever. This recent upgrade mainly updated Maps to version 3.0.

I love the phone so far with ONE EXCEPTION. The camera sucks. But it was a decision I made and a trade off I was willing to accept. Moving from a N95, of course it sucks but I thought since I have a DSLR, I wouldn't have to depend on my phone anymore, just for the spur of the moment shots. And this is my CHEAPEST phone so far. Maybe when I have the time I will blog about all my previous phones.

So... where do I go from here?

NO... No iPhone for me. There are many reasons. I buy and upgrade my gadgets (especially phones) on the basis of utility of features. I love the iPhone for its technology and fanciness but it lacks in certain areas. The most important being, I can't sms with one hand. So, unless they give an 'alphanumeric keypad' option and not just the 'QWERTY keyboard' option, it will be a No. Next, no 'video call'... aiyoh... mana boleh? Not that I use it very often but still? And no expandable memory, and cannot transfer music? Tak nak lah camtu... so until these things are sorted, no thank you. I'm not going to buy a phone just to look good.

The next candidate was the N97 but I just hated the 'keyboard'. And now the next likely candidate would be the X6. The fact that it sounds like a BMW makes it even more desirable. Ha, ha, ha... So far it looks like just what I need. 5MP camera, 32GB internal memory, 6-hour talk time, A-GPS... and a capacitive touch screen. Don't know the difference? iPhone uses capacitive, Nokia 5800 uses resistive.

Now if I can only find someone to buy it for me for Christmas... ha, ha, ha...
